The Major Issues are as follows:

 

   
Forest Land entitlement issue.
   
   
Atrocities and exploitation by Forest officials.
 
   
Exploitation of minor forest-produce collector women.
 
   
Inadequate employment/earning, exploitation of agricultural laborers.
 
   
Severe lack of irrigation facility and infertile land.
 
   
Food Insufficiency due to low productivity of land.
 
   
Exploitation of forest laborers engaged in nursery raising and watchmen.
 
 
Low literacy rate, especially among female.
 
   
Low and ineffective health care delivery systems.
 
   
Low Wage rate.
 
   
Inadequate share of govt. resources e.g. budget, and lack of the development of the region.
 
   
Low awareness level and practice of heavy social spending Face endemic, sporadic and peripheral poverty.
 

Major problems what we were identified :
   
Environmental degradation due to deforestation has led to destruction of livelihood system and greater dependency on local moneylenders and middlemen.
   
   
Almost entire cultivable land is under single crop and depends on rains.
 
   
Productivity of food grains low and is well below the average for the State.
 
   
People are able to harvest crops during good monsoon, which is sufficient only for 6-7 months. They have to earn through migrant labour for rest of the period.
 
   
Credit is accessed only from private individuals.
 
   
Negligible percentages of people are engaged in off-farm activities.
 
   
Most households own livestock but the productivity is extremely low due to less number and less worthy livestock in terms of economic gains, as well as limitation of fodder.
 
   
Forest produce is an important source of supplementary income.
 
   
The problem of unemployment is quite high due to lack of any industry in the district.
 
   
The villages are quite remote and people are least benefited by various IRDP schemes.
 
   
Government health services do not reach the community due to inaccessible area.
 
   
Superstitious practices and witchcraft are widespread.
 
   
Especially outsiders while they are on migrant employment subject women to violence and rape.
 
   
Social stratification exists within the community.
 
   
Though the Panchayats have started functioning, actual benefit to people is quite low due to low awareness of panchayat members.
